Program Note
A 33-year-old monk enters a barren wasteland, a conceptual utopia called "Yuri". To signal his rebirth, he denudes himself and pursues an unusual study of death for forty days. Brutally killing his teacher and a one-eyed monk out of religious duty, he begins to practice only according to himself. Meeting a woman selling her body to know the ′Truth′, they have sex as a meditative devise for spiritual unity and to research death. An unforeseen danger is lurking, however, when his heart becomes corrupt and he faces the limits of his existence.
