The lonely and slow-witted mee pok man (noodle vendor) runs a late-night, fish-ball noodle stall in a notorious part of Singapore. Among his motley clientele is Bunny, a world-weary prostitute controlled by a villainous pimp. Mee pok man secretly obsesses over her and the idea of rescuing her. Through an accident, the two souls start to connect. But fate deals a cruel hand, driving mee pok man to reject society and dive into a relationship both touching and bizarre.
