2025 Asian Contents & Film Market Announces Conference Lineup!

The Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM), the global contents market where international films, audiovisual contents, and original IPs converge, has announced its expanded conference lineup and official schedule. Celebrating its 20th edition, ACFM will cover key themes shaping the landscape of the content industry, including AI, digital transition, finance, IP, and global co-productions. The program will bring together leading global experts and institutions, establishing an international forum for dialogue and collaboration.

InnoAsia

Convergence of AI and Film

Redefining the Creative Vision of Storytelling

InnoAsia, an innovative platform that merges cutting-edge technology with storytelling, will present six sessions this year. The opening session, ‘Demo Jam Kickoff’ will offer a dynamic introduction to InnoAsia’s key participants; followed by ‘Connecting Innovation’, which will showcase innovation cases and future strategies based on Amazon’s cloud technology innovations and Alibaba’s digital production solutions. The Seoul Business Agency (SBA) will also share successful cases of open innovation through public–private collaboration in supporting startups. Co-hosted by the Korean Film Council, ‘The Cinematic Singularity’ will herald a new “creator-driven era”, featuring insights from Midjourney, Kling, Google, and leading Asian filmmakers. The conference will further examine the evolving IP value chain and the expansion of storytelling tools, 'Remapping the Future’ with OpenAI, concluding with a closing keynote from Professor Pat Pataranutaporn of MIT, who will offer a multifaceted vision of the film industry.

The A Summit

Collaboration and Vision of Asian Film Industry

‘The A Summit’, a new initiative launched in partnership with the Asian Film Alliance Network (AFAN), aims to foster sustainable growth and cross-border cooperation within Asia’s content and film industries.

‘AFAN Spotlight – Key Reflections on Asian Film Trends’ will gather various film agencies and government representatives from across Asia to share vital industry data and insights, offering an in-depth analysis of the region’s cinematic and content landscape.

‘Asian Film Market Leaders Summit’ will bring together leaders from major Asian film markets, including Korea (ACFM), Japan (TIFFCOM), Taiwan (TAICCA), Indonesia (JAFF Market), and Saudi Arabia (Red Sea Souk) among others, to examine the roles and functions of each market within today’s rapidly evolving ecosystem, while exploring strategies to strengthen exchange and cooperation in the years ahead.

Winston Baker Session

Entertainment Finance and Global Collaboration Strategy

Winston Baker is bringing their Entertainment Finance Forum to Busan for the first time. ‘Entertainment Finance Forum Busan I’ will examine Korea’s film financing structure, analyzing the factors that led to the decline of institutional and private sector funding in the aftermath of COVID, while also exploring solutions for recovery. The session will further highlight the sustainable growth potential of animated feature films, referencing recent box office successes across Japan, China, Indonesia, and Korea. Discussions will also address how AI and the entry of global corporations are reshaping current production environment. ‘Entertainment Finance Forum Busan II’ will feature Fireside Chat with Simon Cornwell co-hosted by Winston Baker. Simon Cornwell, producer of The Night Manager and co-CEO/co-founder of The Ink Factory, will be joined by Janet Yang, former President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and an acclaimed producer. Together, they will cover a wide range of topics, including book to film/TV adaptations, IP development, drama formats and filming (locations and incentives) in Asia, strategies for revitalizing the Korea theatrical exhibition industry, and recent examples of Asian-Hollywood collaborations.
