Program Note
Nooreh is an eight-year-old girl living in a village on the India-Pakistan border. She discovers that gunfights stop when she wakes up. When the crossfire becomes so bad that school closes, Nooreh decides to stay up all night. Will the gunfight really stop if she does not fall asleep?

Ashish Pandey is a writer and director working in Mumbai, India. Since he graduated from Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, he has been working as a sound engineer, radio producer and advertising copywriter. His shorts The Cabin Man (2007) and Open Doors (2010) were invited to about 50 film festivals and received numerous awards.
