Miracles come from the heart and in Amin Dora’s heart-warming debut, a baby boy is born with the blessing of everyone in a close-knit small village in Lebanon. His name is Ghadi, and he was a child with Down syndrome. One day, because of his continually horrible shriek by the window, the villagers request he be sent to a facility. Leba, his father, wouldn’t dare and doesn’t want to, and after much thought starts spreading the false rumor that Ghadi is actually a guardian angel. The lie begins to grow bigger and bigger each day but surprisingly for the better, as the lives of everyone in the village are touched and changed through this one little boy. Ghadi depicts a father’s love, a white lie that becomes a miracle, and the possibility of this miracle due to people opening their hearts, their willingness to believe and, ultimately, their love for one another, which ties them all together as one family.
