Program Note
Ghost Dog lives above the world, alongside a flock of birds, in a homemade shack on the roof of an abandoned building. Ghost dog is a professional killer able to dissolve into the night and move through the city unnoticed. He lives by a strict code of conduct guided by the ancient warrior creed of the samurai and at the same time possesses high-tech gadgets that can disarm any security system he lays his hands on. Ghost Dog expresses undying loyalty towards Louie, the small time mobster who once saved his life from the hands of back street thugs. But when Ghost Dog′s code is dangerously betrayed by Louie and his dysfunctional mafia family, he reacts strictly in accord with the Way of the Samurai. In his quiet and methodical way, he goes on a campaign to annihilate his adversaries. In Ghost Dog′s words, we′re like two ancient tribes, both almost extinct while everything seems to be changing around us.
