A man finds love from a woman, and she dreams the extrication through him. Appearances of the world reflected in their eyes can be experienced through Im Chang-Jae′s [Aqua Requiem] with its diversified experimental images. The film may be perceived as simple love-triangle between two men and a woman, yet its dramatic stage is something new, created with directors′ unique artistic images. Within the realm of these images, reality and remembrance, dreams and fantasies are intersected as light-blue colored, reflected images prance along. The screen regulates the flow of images, then suddenly letting them drop like a waterfall. With elaborate compounding of images and sound containing the human mentality, <Aqua Requiem> delivers audiences a unique experience. His directorial skills of modulating varicolored images, plus his experimenting nature approaching unison with dramatic film form, proceed us to expect good things from Im Chang-Jae′s next project.
