7 year-old Young-hee and her mother live with the prevailing absence of her father, who is having an affair. The outside world, her mother′s reality and the hole left by her father are all seen through the child′s eyes. Although the family′s reality is a sordid one, mother and daughter march out into the world with dignity. By adding witty touches to trite matters, the film is nowhere near cliched. The colorful and well-organized description of a warehouse, a haven for the children, is superb, and the children′s performances are eye catching. (Hong Hyosook)
