Program Note
In the summer of 1986, a large group of teenagers get together to spend three days living and partying in a summer camp on a picturesque lake in the woods. Sixteen year old Tanel is one of them. He has come to spend these three days with his girlfriend, Helen. He is hoping to finally lose his virginity on this trip. But Helen prefers another guy and, heartbroken, Tanel turns to Helen′s friend, Paike. That sets up a union of two broken hearts. The camp goers must perform skits to compete for a trip to the Russian Black Sea coast. One day, a group of kids stumble across a pigsty full of dead pigs and piglets. This resonates deeply with them and they decided to perform a stylized, symbolic play in pig masks for their skit. The counselors are furious and automatically award the other team as the winner. This leads to a revolt. The developments take pace in a Woodstock-like milieu. The film is radical, optimistic and amusing as it expresses youngster′s behavior and way of thinking.
