Paradise Girls is about three young women who are going through an emotional phase in their lives in different places in the world. Twenty-three year old Miki, twenty-one year old Pei Pei and twenty-four year old Shirley are each in the middle of their own crisis. Miki lives in Tokyo and is upset and troubled when her boyfriend, Benny, informs her that he wants to return to Holland. Pei Pei lives in The Netherlands and is having a difficult time communicating with her father. Shirley lives in Hong Kong and has a young son who must undergo a very complicated surgical procedure. Each woman′s individual reaction to these misfortunes illustrates personal determination as well as a subconscious love of life that is so characteristic to their age.
