16-year old Rudina and her enigmatic grandfather leave their village to emigrate to the West. On the train is an entire population of travellers with the same ambition. Rudina meets Gjergj, a young man travelling with his friend Millo. The grandfather sees this meeting, and proceeds to do everything in his power to keep the two apart. Rudina and Gjergj miss the train during a break and they are left with no choice but to cross the country on foot. Going through living adventures, they become intimate. They finally arrive at the beach, where the local Mafia is clearly in charge, and where after reuniting with her grandfather, he begins his process of separating them anew. Rudina will soon have to face her grandfather′s hidden past - its criminal political element, her father′s torture at his hands, his responsibility for the death of her mother, and also how Gjergj relates to it all.
