Program Note
Lola spends her days at the therapist, wandering through the streets, dabbling in fashion design or obliviously running errands for her husband Mike. Their relationship is at a standstill: A distance has grown between them and they only seem capable of inflicting hurt upon each other. In what has become a routine, Lola packs up a suitcase and departs for the night. Lola decides to contact Sandra, a working girl whom she recently met on the street. Sandra is running from a delinquent loan and is on her way to visit her estranged family after the recent death of her father. In her brief friendship with Sandra, Lola experiences a new tenderness and honesty that had disappeared from her life. Fate intervenes, however, and Lola decides to assume Sandra′s identity and to journey to meet a mother who has not seen her daughter in 15 years.
