Daybreak is a dark and provocative drama that weaves three stories and shows how it is necessary to go the very edge in order to find possible redemption. Agnes and Rickard are preparing to move to another town. One evening, they invite their best friends to dinner. The next morning their lives are changed forever. Anders is a bricklayer who works day and night to earn money for everything he thinks his family needs. On this particular evening, he is offered a strange job for which he will be paid in cash. The offer is one he cannot refuse. Anita has not seen her former husband for three years, when he married a woman 25 years his junior. Suddenly and unexpectedly, she is faced with an incredible opportunity to look him up and finally get the answers to a number of important questions. The families are undergoing change and though seemingly mired in their own lies, the film ultimately shows that love is greater than hate.
