Three couples - in particular three women - in the dreary Vienna suburbs are at the center of one larger tale. Sonja is a fragile woman attempting to handle her anger and frustration with a trying relationship. Eva is a working mother who is suffocating under her life′s monotony. Nicole is a real estate agent and single mom still reeling from the effects of a violent ex-husband. Antares contains three narrative threads that eventually connect to each other. The central force driving all six characters is love: its power to make us act, make us suffer; bring us happiness, and its endless capacity to bring about longings, destruction, and loneliness. Though each of the characters is tested - both emotionally and physically - and too often experiences the jealous and violent by-products of love, they still doggedly seek it. The lives of the three women intersect when the three separate stories merge, thematically and narratively.
