Bishnu quits her job in Delhi and returns to her hometown near the Himalayas. Her grandmother is counting down the days until her son invites her to Dubai; her mom manages the household and village affairs in her own inefficient way; and her pregnant elder sister has taken refuge at their childhood home to avoid conflict with her mother-in-law and husband. Watching them, Bishnu makes an effort to suggest better paths for them in her own way. Then she meets an architect named Gyan, and as their relationship develops, she finds herself feeling conflicted. A story about three generations of women living in a remote mountain village set against the beautiful Himalayan landscape, Shape of Momo closely follows Bishnu’s emotional journey. Through the small incidents and situations Bishnu encounters in daily life, the film provides a delicate portrayal of how challenging it is for a woman to exist as an independent human being among good, ordinary people, and not limited by the roles of daughter, wife, or mother.
