Program Note
Young Shabnam lives a life of solitude and loneliness in the ruins of Kabul with other parentless children. She would like to live in the already crowded orphanage but the director of the institution explains that other more needy children have a higher priority for admission.

Mohammad HAIDARI
Mohammad Haidari was born in 1982 in Afghanistan and later moved to Iran, where he studied acting and filmmaking. Beside practical works along with studying cinema, Mohammad Haidari contributed to documentary film named “Rewayat Hejr” ( separation narration ) for Iranian TV in 1998. He worked as an assistant to Samira Makhmalbaf on AT FIVE IN THE AFTERNOON and to Siddiq Barmak on OSAMA. He has also directed the short film Dew.
