In a small town in the middle of nowhere, basket weaver Miguelina waits for her husband Jose to return. Some of her neighbors start blaming her for the drought and the death of their animals. They think she might be possessed by evil. A little girl comes to her, lost and thirsty, and for her, Miguelina creates a magic world with fruit and flowers. The neighbors are ready to burn Miguelina and her baskets, but nature is on her side.
