The more a society is controlled, the more people feel the urge to escape. For Iranian women, the most liberating place is women′s restrooms. The restrooms are also a microcosm of society where the troubles of Iranian women are revealed. Taking her camera to the restroom, director Mahnaz Afzali sheds light on the place where Iranian women can, even if only for a moment, forget their troubles and experience a sense of freedom. Through this film, the director also stresses that Iranian women deserve a larger space of liberation. (Kim Ji-seok)
