A four-member rock band singing on a stage of a green alien planet is kidnapped. The members are brain washed into becoming ′humans′, and become superstars on Earth. But, thanks to a hero, they find their way back to their home planet. French techno group "Daft Punk" performs the intro music of this film, and their music video-by Japanese animation master Leiji Matsumoto-is the basis for this animation. Interstella 5555 can be seen as music to which the musical imagery of "Daft Punk" is added. At the same time it is a typical Leiji Matsumoto animation.
