Program Note
The year is 2080 A.D. and Agent R who is in charge of eliminating runaway cyborgs falls in love with a female cyborg, which is scheduled to be destroyed. Agent R may be a corrupt detective, but he is also willing to throw everything away for the woman he loves. When Agent R leaves his line of duty to escape with the cyborg, his fellow agents set out to track down the renegade pair. The film′s setting reminds of Blade Runner, but the story relies heavily on the melodramatic elements rather than a dystopian vision. Well told with splendid visuals, Natural City shows the future possibilities of Korean science-fiction films.
