This film shows the disintegration of a lawyer′s family in a comical and yet shocking way. Although the family appears to be happy, the husband who is a competent lawyer with high moral attitude, and his wife and mother are all involved in extramarital affairs. An accident with no definite wrongdoing leads the family to ruin. This film hits upon the illusion of the middle class ideology and family values by expressing sexual acts without any inhibitions and depicting its main characters in an aloof manner minus the emotional sentiments. The film is notable for a daring performance by Moon So-ri, who received the Best Actress Award for Oasis at the Venice Film Festival in 2002. The humorous and witty dialogue, and the way this comic and yet tragic story is rhythmically interpreted are also excellent. It is no doubt one of the best Korean films this year.
