KAWAZOE Aya

Born in 1989, Kawazoe Aya learned filmmaking under directors Aoyama Shinji and Kurosawa Kiyoshi. Her directorial works include The Elephant Died (2012), selected for the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen; Humongous! (2020), screened in the short film section of the Cannes Critics’ Week, New York Film Festival, and Lago Film Fest; and the short film Howling (2022), screened at Rotterdam and winner of the Best Fiction Award at IndieLisboa.
