Program Note
In the middle of the road, a camel is being hoarded away on a truck. As it gazes in awe at the wonders of the city, it is unaware of its final destination, that being the butcher′s block. Even at its final moment, it recalls the happy days in the desert with friends. A lyrical, yet shocking film.

Ali Mohammad Ghasemi
Ali Mohammad Ghasemi was born on 1970 in Malayer, Iran. His cinematic career started in 1985 when he made 8mm short films for the Iranian Young Cinema Society. Besides directing short films, he has been involved in the production of many different films as photographer, editor and cameraman. He received the Golden Plaque from the Edeon Film Festival in Yugoslavia. His short film [Stranger and Native] was selected at the competition section of the 40th Critics’ Week of the Cannes International Film Festival in 2001.
