This is a drama about a family consisting of three members who have many stories to tell and it is the first of the director′s ′Life Triology′ as well. Through this family story the director emphasizes the importance of communication. He wants to overcome the feeling of ′fear′ which he has been digging into so far and delivers a message that what we need now is not fear but ′touch’ that makes life itself. So, it seems to be a natural consequence that a miracle finally settles the desperation of the family at the end of the film. It is painful to observe the events reeled out by the family members; the woman, a carer who used to put the patients abandoned by their families in sanatorium, is surreptitiously paid by those who have abandoned them, an ex-member of the national team in shooting who suffers from alcoholism abandonedly, currently working as a middle school coach, together with their cute daughter. One day when the kid is struck by misfortune, the woman confronts an unexpected situation. Their stories make vibrant with life and lead to a kind of universality, most of all, thanks to such celebrated casts as Yu Jun-sang and KIm Ji-young. Especially, Kim Ji-young′s performance is the highlight. "Discovery" is not an exaggeration. (JEON Chanil)
