Program Note
A single mother and a married man fall in love one day. They have a mutual agreement: no jealousy, no expectation for future. With Juliette Greco’s song La javanaise playing as a background music, love goes on in Paris as time passes and seasons change. As their relationship develops, however, there will be a time when they question their agreement. Emmanuel Mouret follows Éric Rohmer and observes how love can trap a couple who constantly analyzes and questions their relationship. Sandrine Kiberlain plays a happy and chic woman who is honest with her desire, and Vincent Macaigne plays an anxious man who often makes mistakes just like characters do in Woody Allen’s movies. If tears swell up in your eyes when Vincent Macaigne confesses his love, you must have had the pain of loving someone too late. (SEO Seunghee)
