Yitian delivers weather and traffic information on radio. She is a single mom raising her son alone in a big city, but she prides herself in having led a great life in general. Yet in the relationship with her troublemaker son, ex-husband, current lover, alcoholic father, and a much too hard-working cousin, we see the bittersweet sorrow of her life. The crisis faced by Yitian and people around her results from the loss of a loved one or the helpless fragility of life. However, it also comes from the conditions of life in a large Chinese city, where capitalism has taken hold at a rapid pace, as can be seen in Yitian being laid off and replaced by cheaper labor. Nevertheless, facing their loss and fear, the characters discover their own strengths and take a step forward into the future. (HONG Soin)
