In 2019, a man named Naveen disappears from a memorial park in Sydney while traveling with his girlfriend Cathy. Having arrived in New York two years ago, Naveen finds a job at a restaurant and meets Cathy there. As their relationship deepens, Naveen′s lies become bolder. The man known as Naveen, or Sameer, cannot tell the truth about anything, including his name, nationality, religion, family, and past. A leading filmmaker of the Bangladeshi new wave cinema, who has been delivering social criticisms against the backdrop of historical and religious conflicts in South Asia, director Farooki expands the stage on a bold scale and borrows the melodrama genre to reveal the truth about a man called Naveen. Rahman, a master Indian musician is in charge of the ′melo′ in this melodrama. A joint production between the United States, India, and Bangladesh, No Land’s Man was selected for APM 2020.
