"Mugando", the road to hell where extreme suffering is eternal, is the original title for the film Infernal Affairs, which tells the story of two men who are enemies but also the only people who can understand each other. Chan Wing Yan, an elite police cadet, is sent undercover into a criminal organization, while Lau Kin Ming and other newcomers must survive in the police academy. Ten years later, Chan Wing Yan and Lau Kin Ming rise to positions of trust in their respective organizations. Since its first release in 2003, Infernal Affairs had been re-released twice in Korea in 2011 and 2016, and it is coming to Busan once more. This year’s newly restored 4K version will help the audience experience the essence of the beloved Hong Kong noir with intensity that can only be felt in theaters.
