Mitul is well-educated and has a good job as a journalist. After her grandmother passed away, she lives alone in the old house where her family has lived for generations. Her family does not view her warmly, though. She always eats alone whether in a restaurant at home. In contrast to the interest she shows in her job, she is indifferent to the world news such as terrorist attacks and natural disasters. She finds comfort only in her romance with a coworker, Artish. However, her peace is shaken by her exboyfriend who has been stalking her for years and threatening to commit suicide. To make matters worse, her grandmother’s soul returns and begins constantly complaining about her. Deep6 depicts the daily life of a young woman who has to step into the future in the midst of buried memories and the past to be buried. 2011, the year the film is set, marked the end Kolkata’s thirty-four-year of Communist rule.
