Seventeen-year-old Nham, lover of poetry, lives in the countryside of Vietnam as the man of the family with his mother and young sister-in-law. His father having passed away and his brother living far from the village, he too will leave as the draft is fast approaching. Because of loneliness from her husband′s absence, his sister-in-law Ngu has become attached to Nham. One day, Nham meets a beautiful and sophisticated woman and spends a sleepless night thinking of her. But there′s someone else to consider in this story of adolescence and maturity.
