Program Note
Terror occurs in the Jehovah’s Witness Church. Someone throws a firebomb into the church. While a husband is uncovering the truth behind the terror, his wife is attacked severely. Terrible things happen after a cop enters the house and terrorizes his wife. The wife informs her husband of it, but to no avail. At the beginning of the film, there is a biblical story that God told Abraham to sacrifice his son. Why does God make a man commit this terrible sin? This film gives one answer to this. Isn′t there a God of vengeance, not God of forgiveness? The director’s ability to foretell scary things on the static screen stands out. (NAM Dong-chul)
