Bela and Jota are a Portuguese immigrant couple living in the outskirts of London with their three children, struggling with unemployment and poverty. When a misunderstanding at the school of their deaf daughter leads to social services knocking on their door, they are forced to defy bureaucracy to preserve the family and defend their beloved. </p>Listen portrays a family’s tireless battle against prejudice. The difference in customs and beliefs are often overlooked for the sake of efficiency and standardization.
