Ghalib is a truck driver who spends most of his time on the road. The camera emphasizes close ups of Ghalib sitting behind the wheel. He is a vagabond who doesn’t need nor has any affection for a home. The back pain that he suddenly develops becomes visualized and auralized with a long take of worn-out tires on a truck struggling along an unpaved road. Ghalib can go anywhere he wants on his truck, but at the same time his life is confined to the cramped driver’s seat. Milestone carefully weaves the stories of people in ironic situations and their surroundings.
