Program Note
Nurse Nour is transferred to a chemical factory where her father works. The company, ignoring the health and the safety of the workers and the local community, has released toxic waste. Nour feels conflict in the face of the truth. Red Soil shows an example of how a movie should react as media when truth and the social system collide. Protecting the environment is important, but you cannot ignore your family and the conditions of survival provided by workplaces. The situation later worsens when job security, local economic and political interests intervene. Red Soil is heading for one goal of justice rather than the best. The lake and land that have turned red ask which side to support. (LEE Yong Cheol)
