Siv lives for music and makes her living as a prompter at the Opera. Her entire lifework takes place in a box on the floor of the opera stage. Siv has never liked taking up much space. When Siv marries Fred, she moves into his house, a home which is dominated by his ex-wife′s possessions, his children, his habits, with only a small amount of room for Siv. Her life and space are gradually squeezed and invaded until she is forced out. One day, Siv is left standing on the street with a tuba someone has left behind. My aim was to tell a story of a human being who can only cope with small spaces and is afraid of occupying the larger ones. A story about how difficult it is to be seen when you have made yourself invisible in the first place, and how difficult it is to live anything but a "small"life when you are scared of your own being.
