The Ballad of Buster Scruggs is an American western anthology film written, directed, and produced by the Coen brothers. Six chapters present a different story from the wild frontier: “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs” tells the story of a sharp-shooter who would like to sing all the time. In “Near Algodones,” a would-be-bank-robber who is beset by misfortune. “Meal Ticket” is about a travelling showman who feels his once popular attraction is no longer the ticket it once was. “All Gold Canyon” is a story about a prospector mining for gold, while “The Gal Who Got Rattled” tells the tale of an unmarried woman who is left alone in mid-waggon train when her bumptious brother dies. Finally, “The Mortal Remains” features a stagecoach ride with two singing bounty hunters; Tyne Daley a philosophising French gambler, and the most tedious trapper. The Ballad of Buster Scruggs boasts star like Tim Blake Nelson, Liam Neeson, James Franco, and Tom Waits. It was world premiered at the 75th Venice International Film Festival.
