Program Note
While getting ready to go home after a long day of work, the main character drops her hearing aid in the sink. Once wet, it stops working, and everything in the otherwise normal night becomes something dangerous. The film brings an unfamiliar auditory experience to the audience and subsequently presents extreme anxiety.
Director
Dimon John
Dimon John started working as a graphic designer when he was sixteen and studied multimedia and visual effects at Arena Animation, before he directed the 3D animation Greedy Harish (2011.) He interned at Sri Lanka Film Location Services in 2014 and worked as an assistant director for several films and advertisements. Waves Interrupted is his directorial debut.
