Program Note

Francis must reconcile his relationship with his abusive father who suffers from Huntington’s Disease. Francis’ younger brother, Ed--the cameraman--records their dysfunctional lives with his Super 8 camera as their relationship with their father worsens.

Connor GASTON

Hailing from Victoria, British Columbia, writer and director Connor Gaston holds a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Victoria. Gaston’s short films include Shoulda Coulda (2011), Bardo Light (2012), Stuck (2012), Owl Creek (2013), ’Til Death (2014) and Godhead (2014). The Devout is his first feature.
