Program Note
Maria is one of the female victims of sexual violence in East Timor in their dark years of independence. The past is past, but Maria always felt that her body has never been her own. She saw that the possibility could happen as well to Flora, just because of a dowry / bride price.

Kamila ANDINI
Kamila Andini was born in Jakarta and was educated at Melbourne’s Deakin University where she studied media arts and sociology. Her earliest work was as a documentarist and in series television, and she also directed several music videos. Her filmography includes A Song for Tukik (2010) and Mirror Never Lies (2011).
