Program Note
Images live in our minds like a coild snake. Through childhood memories, a daughter gets her mother′s purity by osmosis. She wants to escape suppression through endurance and obedience, but finds she resembles her mother, a good wife full of devotion and sacrifice. She embraces this ideal for women, as she reconciles herself with the traditional role of motherhood. The solidarity between the two women is conveyed through economic use of narrative images.
