In an attempt to catch a suspected killer, Detective Jaegon opts to go through Kim Hyegyeong, the girlfriend of the suspect. While staking out her house, Jaegon almost comes to blows with the suspect and misses his chance to approach Hyegyeong. So he goes undercover as manager of a bar where Hyegyeong works, slowly getting drawn in by her feminine charms as he finds himself working close to her. Despite being crippled by debt, she remains proud and sometimes appears very strong, but just as often seems very lonely. Jaegon asks her to run away with him but realizing what he said, immediately makes some evasive joke about it. The Shameless has a classic atmosphere with the inclusion of Kim Hyegyeong as a femme fatale. Usually a beautiful but inherently wicked woman, the atypical Hyegyeong doesn′t lie, unlike the male characters in the film. Faithful to her feelings and trying to endure the burdens of life, this character is well crafted and skillfully brought to life by actress Jeon Do-yeon’s outstanding performance. (NAM Dong-chul)
