Program Note
Although it first introduces itself as a documentary about singer Ha Siyong’s music video, which has over 30 million hits on YouTube, in fact this film is a fake documentary where Ha works as voice coach to an idolized band at an entertainment agency. Not yet fully acknowledged, Mr. Ha goes for an audition to prove his ability, but he fails the test. Discouraged, he starts to live rough but meets singer Nam Domin, who performs at a café in Misari. Soon he starts taking lessons from Mr. Nam and after a while, he tries to introduce him to the entertainment agency, but Mr. Nam is also ignored. As a result, he gives up on his dream of being a singer. This is the second film from director Lee Keun-woo, who made Project 577 (2012), starring Ha Jungwoo and Gong Hyojin. This new film comically tells the story of a singer dreaming of success, who actually spends his days frustrated and dismayed, but after reflecting on his life is inspired to start again.
