Program Note

An alcoholic father beats his wife and son every day. The boy suffers the violence in silence and begins seeking out a way to console himself. He finds a guitar in his cousin’s room and decides to learn to play.

Started movie making by self-reflecting documentary One Way Ticket(2007). Co-directed for Jam Docu Gang-Jeong(2011) which was about the military base in Jeju island, and made debut with The Big Picture(2012) about an author painting a book about Japanese army′s ′comfort women.′ Boy with Guitar(2015) is his first fictional short.
