Program Note

A group of prisoners sentenced to life wake up in an unknown place. It doesn’t take long for them to realize that they are adrift in space with only one evacuation shuttle on board. Under the premise of gambling with their lives for seats, the animation discusses the meaninglessness of choice in a society full of irony. (CHO Young-jung)

ANDO Hiroaki

Born in Aichi, Japan, Ando Hiroaki began working in anime on computer graphics for Otomo Katsuhiro’s Memories, and he is currently managing director at BeanJam. He has worked in advertising and as a storyboard artist. Ando’s filmography as CGI director includes [Steamboy] (2004), as co-director [Tekkon Kinkreet] (2006), and [Digital Juice] (2001) as director.
