Program Note
A salaryman relieves his routine and stress by assembling Do It Yourself furniture. He blissfully imagines flattening his boss’ head with a planer and hammering the heads of others. He teaches a woman he meets by chance about DIY and soon comes to a surprising realization. With extraordinary imagination, the film deals with the violence prevalent in modern society. Kohei YOSHINO
Animator and director Kohei Yoshino has become a festival favorite in the short time he has been making films, and is a regular at the Pia Film Festival and a Canon Digital Creators award winner. He also works in advertising. His filmography includes [Tale of Night] (2000), [Newton Blocks] (2002), [Slide Show] (2003), [Day of Recomposing] (2004), and [ah-rab] (2010).
