Program Note
A man rests his head on a woman’s lap on a bus. He fondles her knee rather dubiously and brushes her face, but she remains unreactive. By now, they look like an intimate couple. As time goes by, the relationship between the two is redefined. The director’s wit stands out as a simple situation heads toward an unexpected ending. (CHO Young-jung)

Ismail BASBETH
Born in Wonosobo, Jogjakarta, Indonesia, Ismail Basbeth was a student of traditional music at the Indonesia School of Art, Bandung. He soon gave that up to study communications and later gave both up for filmmaking. He is a co-founder of Hide Project Indonesia, and his filmography as director includes [Hide and Sleep] (2008) and [Harry Van Yogya] (2010).
