Program Note
When beloved and respected actor Robert dies, his wife Ellen is devastated. She tries to overcome her sorrow by continuing to hold his acting workshops, cleaning out Robert’s belongings, and proceeding with a memorial service. Then one day, she finds letters that he has shared with his illegitimate daughter among his belongings and realizes that he had never revealed this huge secret to her. The movie crosses back and forth between Ellen’s daily life, the memorial service, the daughter’s letters, and an interview with Robert, all centered on the shadow of Robert’s character. What most effectively delivers the sense of loss and fragility in the movie are the pictures?vibrant and pleasantly flowing. The film was supported by Canon, which provided its EOS 5D and 7D, as well as 550D cameras, making the film a must-see for those who want to review the performance of these cameras, which are under spotlight in Korea as well.
