Program Note
The film is divided into two parts: The first part revolves around the sisters Ara and Marian, their friend Belen, and Belen’s dog Lulu. The second part adds a variety of other characters, a dog and a festival before turning the cameras around and filming the crew in documentary style. This first solo film directed by Ivan Fund is about friendship and family in daily life. The free flow and unique atmosphere found in [The Lips(]2010 Un Certain Regard) codirected with Santiago Loza, are still alive in its first part. Fund is well aware that film is an art of atmosphere. His ability to freely express the atmosphere of each scene proves his potential. Meanwhile, the extreme and experimental dissolution of the existing style means that Fund took a risk as a director. He is a talent to watch. (RHEE, Soue-won)
