One evening, an unidentified man arrives in the small island village of Mallorca, Spain. Hoping that not one will notice him, he settls down in an abandoned store. But word soon spreads that a stranger has purchased and plans to reopen the store. His appearance in the island slowly transforms the people living there. This is a humanistic film about overcoming obstacles of communication. Even though Marco is a foreigner, it takes a long time for the villagers to figure out that he does not understand their language. He becomes the “perfect” counselor and confidant who listens to all their innermost troubles. The film shows that a difference in language is no barrier to true communication, and is purposefully set in the island of Mallorca, where immigrants from all over Central America, North Africa, Germany and England live together. Centered on the psychological development of the character, the movie makes a brilliant conclusion in the end. Acclaimed actor Colm Meaney from Law Abiding Citizen, The Magical Legend of Leprechauns, and Con Air stars as the lead. (RHEE, Soue-won)
