Program Note
[Footnote] is the story of a great rivalry between a father and son. They are both professors whose names are known for their study of the Talmud. The son places importance on achievement and fame, while the father holds his own integrity higher than any other honor. One day, the father receives an award and their relationship takes yet another turn. Trivial matters cause such conflicts and the son’s behavior gets more radical by day. Awarded best screenplay at this year’s Cannes International Film Festival, Footnote weaves together its story with amazing originality. (LEE Sang-yong)
